Tiny Box Empire

Sat 28th July - Joyce L. launched her first album "Close To Me", produced by Tiny Box Studios and distributed by EQ Music.  The launch party was a great success!  It was held at her own bungalow at Berrima Rd.  It was really a beautiful place to held the launch. Poolside Party!  wooo…  and beautiful floral arrangements too.

Dr Joyce L. invited many guests as well.  Besides the production team (Kenn, Keith and TianHwee), a lot of her importants guests were invited too.  Jack Neo even gave a few words on stage and he made us laugh a lot.  He was indeed a funny and interesting producer!  Lots of them even recorded short testimonial video clips for Joyce.  One of those everyone agreed and enjoyed was a clip from Thomas Ong (Mediacorp Artiste), he said she is a supermom, superdoctor, superwife, superfriend and a superstar, and that made her a superwoman! And yes, she is indeed all the above!

"Close To Me" is an album produced wholly in Tiny Box Studios, produced and arranged by Mr Kenn Wu (the man behind Tiny Box Empire), vocals and backing vocals produced by Keith Leong, and engineered by TianHwee(Dotz).  This album is an Audiophile woman sings collection remastered HD-CD and being distributed by EQ Music and is now available in all major music stores. 

Choices of songs are from the 80’s - From the very lovely ‘Perhaps Love’ to the very jazzy and calm "Just The Way You Are" and also some bossa novas like "You’ve got a friend".  Many favourites like ‘Sway’, ‘Can’t Take My Eyes of You’, ‘Over the Rainbow’, ‘Close To You’ and ‘You Raise Me Up’ are also included in this album.  Joyce’s beautiful voice and the jazzy and calm arrangements of the songs made this album so easy to listen to. It’s so COOL!  Tiny Box Artiste Academy’s students had the chance to record backing vocals for Kit Chan in "Dreams" as the theme song for National Stadium’s Closure Ceremony.  It was really a memorable experience for all our students who took part in this event.  It includes some of our students from SMU and our in-house BVP students.

Creation 2007 - Trial Classes held during the month of June ended and it was a success!  All the applicants were very responsive and enjoyed themselves very much, especially during session 3 - audition where they get to experience recording their own singing.  Some of them even requested to have them recorded into CD for their own collection.  It is really fun to hear your own singing, but some of them just cannot take it!! hahaha.  Well, that’s normal when you feel weird listening to your own singing, especially your first time!
